Launceston General Hospital

In 2011 major expansion works were completed at the Launceston General Hospital including a new multistorey car park with 200 spaces, to mitigate parking issues in an area limited for space.

To achieve a cost efficient design several alternatives were considered, with the most viable and durable solution a two way post tensioned concrete floor slab with precast concrete shear walls in the lift and stair wells for lateral bracing.

An aesthetically pleasing structural steelwork facade was created to allow natural light and ventilation, whilst forming part of the wall wetting fire sprinkler system for boundary protection.
